3 International Congress on Energy Efficiency and
Renewable Energy Sources 24-26 April 2007, Sofia, Bulgaria
Agenda 2020 of the European Union, targeting 20% increase of the Energy Efficiency (EE), 20% share of then Renewable Energy Sources (RES) in the Energy Mix, and a 20% cut in the of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, as well as 10% use of bio fuels in the member states, compared with the level in 1990 is an ambitious goal, which can be reached by all 27 EU member countries. This way we can reduce our dependency on imported oil from politically un-stable regions and the risk of energy supply crises, resulting in a vulnerable European energy situation. At the same time we will contribute to better climate protection, to energy security, to job creation and to economic and business development, based on innovations. The countries in South Eastern Europe can meet better this Agenda if they act coherently and bound their efforts.
South Eastern European EE&RES Federation.
