The most significant event in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in South Eastern Europe in 2006!

Over 500 delegates are expected to gather during the 2nd International Congress on EE and RES.

So far experts and organizations from Bulgaria, Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey, etc. have shown interest.

Among them companies occupied in power engineering, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency in industry, construction and transport, research centres, foundations, agricultural sector, financial branch, state authorities, etc.

Renewable energy sources (RES) combined with a rational use of energy (RUE) are increasingly considered to be the bestchoice to the problems related to security of energy supply, environmental protection and economic development.

They present answers to many economic and environmental problems: they secure jobs and income in Europe’s regions, they avoid environmental damage caused by conventional fuels and they make a major contribution to sustainable development.

The renewable energy industry is one of Europe’s fast growing sectors of the economy.

Europe is at the forefront of RES development worldwide and has significant experience in the formulation of proactive policy measures for renewable energy.

The 2nd International Congress on EE and RES should serve as a brainstorming for further initiatives and policy measures to promote the up-take of RES and EE in South Eastern Europe and should come up with concrete proposals for future actions leading towards a sustainable energy future of the region

In addition to this, the Congress will also focus on financing options as well as on the technology status of the various renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.
