Bulgaria takes 54th place in the global best tourism destinations classification, made by World Economic Forum.
The list, which includes 124 countries, is headed by Switzerland, followed by Austria, Germany and Iceland.
Bulgaria's ranking is due to its natural and cultural recourses, a representative of the forum explained.
Bulgaria steps back to 103rd place as far as its environmental conditions are concerned.
In the classification, based on road infrastructure construction, Bulgaria occupies the 70th position. That is a serious obstacle to tourism development, World Economic Forum indicates. bgcert.com |

US oil giant Chevron is interested in buying into the Burgas-Alexandroupolis crude pipeline, Bulgaria's Economy Ministry said on Tuesday.
The oil company is also interested in building a regional terminal for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, the ministry said after the country's Economy Minister Rumen Ovcharov met with Chevron's vice-presidents Jay Pryor and John McDonald.
Bulgaria, Greece and Russia were due to sign the deal for the construction and operation of the pipeline in Athens on Tuesday, but the event was postponed until next week in order to iron out the last kinks over its wording, according to an earlier report by RIA-Novosti.
Initially developed in the mid 1990s, the strategic oil pipeline is projected to transport Russian crude oil along a land route that bypasses the traffic-congested Bosphorus and Hellespont straits. Its initial capacity is set at 35 million tonnes a year, but it can be increased to 50 million tonnes a year.
Three Russian energy companies are to acquire a joint 51% stake in the operations of the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline. The remainder will be shared out between Bulgaria and Greece.
The pipeline will be 280 kilometres long, including 166 kilometres through seven municipalities in South-eastern Bulgaria. The cost of the project is set at USD 700- 900 M.

Every year the loss of economic and social resourses due to environmental problems worlwide is growing. According to the official report of the WWF (World environmental conservation organization) global water resources decrease every year. The combination of climate change along with poorly planned water infrastructure and resource mismanagement is affecting mainly the rich industrial countries but also making this crisis truly global.
In 2005 China was the country that attracted most of the investments in all business sectors and will become the largest market for investments in the field of environmental protection industry.
The following international 2007 exhibitions in Shanghai already have attracted the foreign interest, including - European.

27-29 April 2007 - the 8th International Environmental Protection Tech & Equipment Exhibition EPTEE 2007 parallel to: 27-29 April 2007 - WSDWTF 2007 – International Water Supply & Drainage and Water Treatment Exhibition
At EPTEE 2007, famous foreign and domestic enterprises, such as Hitachi, Danfoss, Wei willing, Heraeus, Philips, Hash, Rehau, Kay-chuen, Huahong Copper, Dow, Hyde, Kohl, Condenser, Nuoruite, Yida, Suofeima etc , have booth areas with a substantial increase compared to the previous. In addition, more professional associations organize country pavilions to participate at the show, for instance Water Environmental Federation (WEF) in the United States, Korean IPR, Korea Environmental Preservation Association (KEPA), Japan APEAL, Spain CONSEA, France NEXTRADE, Malaysian Water Association, Singapore Confederation of Industries, Russian TIL and Israel Consulate in China etc.
