We were founded about 16 years ago.

What is the role of the US government agencies for promoting EE & RES?

U.S. promotes ENERGY STAR through the Department of Energy. Also passed a new Energy Bill that calls for higher-rated SEERs on HVAC, transmission improvements, etc.

Can you tell us about the utility companies activities in the field of EE & RES?

Utilities offer a range of education on EE to their residential customers. Some are mandated by their state commissions to provide a great deal of energy efficiency measures; i.e., New York, Wisconsin, California, Arizona, etc.

Which are the most successful energy efficiency programs aimed toward residential customers in USA?

Most successful programs are load control, audits, weatherization and incentives/rebates to purchase energy-efficient lighting and appliances.

How does the industry work for more EE?

The industry works for EE. If you mean business, larger corporations have their own energy managers who develop energy-efficient practices and technologies with the help of their local utilities.

What is your experience concerning cooperation with the municipality sector in the field of EE?

There are some municipalities that are heaving involved in energy efficiency. Some that come to mind immediately are Austin Energy (Texas), Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Salt River Project (Phoenix), Sacramento Municipal Utility District.

What is your experience for retroffiting of existing houses in USA?

Most retrofits of homes include simple measures from caulking, upgrading insulation, adding shade screens and planting deciduous trees. More expensive retrofits include such as window replacements, water heater replacements, and HVAC replacements.
